Note: Bug form is still kind of bugged (no pun intended) and does not work for some people. If you can’t build combo’s don’t use it.
Note: Heal players not in your party with Cross Pollination.

Stats:

1. Restoration
2. Power
3. Health

Reasoning: Restoration is self explanatory.  Power however is my #2 because, simply put, it gives you a bigger battery to use for spike heals. Until Vitalization is tested and confirmed that it works for normal power regen, I don’t want to commit to it.  Somewhere I saw someone say Health > Power, but I can heal more than 300 health with 300 power.

Stats and Systems DCUO Guide

First off, you need to know how the numbers work for Stats.

Precision: 10 Precision = +1 Weapon DPS
Might: 20 Might = +7% Power Damage (20 is the first whole number multiple. +1 Might is .35% Dmg at lvl 30)
Restoration: 4 Restoration = +1% increase in base amount healed
Vitalization: 4 Vitalization = +1% more power generated by any effects you cause
Dominance: 2 Dominance = +1 additional damage an enemy must take before control is broken
Defense/Toughness: As you gain levels more Defense/Toughness is required to maintain the same protection. 15 Defense at level 1 and 71 Defense at level 30 = +1% more damage prevention.

This is a beginners guide to Legends Characters. It lists all the characters moves and a little about what each does. There are no stats on this. It’s really just to give those new to Legends an idea of what their powers do. Please upvote and comment. Happy Hunting!

The format will be:

A Guide to Weapon – Role Synergy in DCUO

One of the most common questions I see on chat channels and in the forums both here and at SOE is this: “Is (weapon A) good with (power B)?” This guide is designed to answer that question.

Each of the ten Fighting Styles offer bonuses to your character’s Stats as well as bonuses to things like Critical Hit Chance or Critical Healing Effect. Certain stats are important to specific roles. So certain Fighting Styles offer bonuses to the stats which Healers, Tanks, Controllers or DPS characters are going to want. This guide lists all those bonuses and tries to provide a few different ways of seeing that information and using it to make wise Fighting Style choices.

It is important to remember that, in theory, you can eventually acquire a great many Fighting Styles. Skill points are automatically acquired every other level, but in addition you receive 1 skill point for every 100 Feat Points you earn. A wise player, or one who wants to make his character as strong as possible, earns Feats to collect Skill Points to buy all the bonuses which strengthen his role.   • You can not change your power (fire, ice, gadgets, mental, nature, sorcery)
  • You can not change your movement type (flight, acrobatics, super-speed)
  • When you respec you just refunds your power and skill points
  • When you hit level 10 you can train a second weapon. When you respec you can put all your points to a new weapon if you are not satisfy with the old one
  • You can respec at the Watchtower (as a Hero) or the Hall of Doom (as a Villain) (Open your map (M) scroll down until you see the RE-SPEC machine)
    For Villains: From the central area keep traveling down through the wings until you reach the pit. Follow the path around the pit and you’ll find it.
    For Heroes: The RE-SPEC machine is in the Aquaculural Area, which is located in the southwest area of the tower – Tech Wing
  • I don’t believe there’s a minimum level requirement to use respec
  • You need 500 in game cash to respec
  • The re-spec machine gets more expensive (500, 650, …) each time you use it, but it resets to 500 if you wait 24 hours.
  • Don’t forget that you can earn additional skill points by completing feats. 100 feat points for a skill point. So, maybe you don’t have to respec just earn additional skill points.

First DCUO Content Update

Sony Online Entertainment announced the first major content update scheduled for February. The first update has no plans to raise the level cap but it will include:

  • New playable character in the Legends player-versus-player mode – Catwoman
  • New bosses battle
  • Ancient Mayan armor
  • New PVP zone in Gotham
  • New eight-player raid zone in the Batcave
  • No auction house but new broker functionality -possibility to exchange gear with each other

RIFT – MMORPGs of 2011, Part 1

The year behind us was probably one of the worst years for the MMORPG genre. We saw several rushed out releases that brought shame to the IPs that powered them. We saw the quickest closing down of a high budget MMO in history. The only thing that seem to have made money are games for teenagers and browser games.
For the first time in our 4 year history we will be doing a network wide Editorial on all our MMORPG Life sites and the topic will be huge MMO games coming out this year and what we expect of them. The honor to be presented first is the soon to be released Rift by Trion Worlds.

Rift: Planes of Telara is a fantasy MMORPG made and published by the industry newcomer Trion Worlds. The game is set in a unique world of Telara that represents an intersection of several powerful planes of reality. As such it has drawn the attention of the mighty elemental gods of the Blood Storm led by Regulos, god of Death. As Death gods tend to do he attacked Telara and it is up to its denizens to try and defend it from the oncoming invasion.

We had the opportunity to play in the invitational closed beta events Trion Worlds has been holding in the past months and here are my impressions of what I’ve seen in my short time in Telara.
If you haven’t managed to get into one of these events and are curious to see what the game is all about you can also pre-order the game and that will grant you access to all the remaining beta events as well as early access.

DCUO Stats Descriptions

The Stats tab of the Inventory window (I) displays the current attributes of the player. If you click on the Stat name, description will be presented to read in the window below the stat. The major stats are: Health, Power, Defense, Might, Restoration, Vitalization, Precision, Toughness and Dominance.

Toughness and Defense are stats that allow you to reduce damage. In order to defend yourself properly in PvP combat you have to build Toughness, Defense does nothing for you during PvP combat. Gear can have one but not both, thus one gear set for each enemy type.
