Today SOE announced the eighth downloadable content – Sons of Trigon, that will enable players to battle alongside Wonder Woman and confront Trigon. DCUO’s 11th Power, Celestial, will be introduced with the new DLC, that will be available for download on the PC and PlayStation 3 later this fall.
Base Builder’s Weekend begins Friday, July 26, 2013, and will continue to Monday, July 29, 2013. During this time your chances of getting Base loot will be increased. DCYO team will increase the odds that you will gain Base items when collecting just about any type of loot in the game.
New Sewer Lair theme is available in the Marketplace and can be described as a secret underground Lair located in the city under the streets. If you don’t mind mess and uncleanliness, then the new Lair is exactly what you need. The Sewer Lair theme comes with indispensable HAZMAT Officers for Henchmen/Back-Up, so you’ll never have to clean up alone.
All servers will be taken offline Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at 6:00AM Pacific, for Game Update 28. Downtime is expected to last about 5 hours. Players may notice the following changes:

The Atlantean Warships have left the straits of Metropolis once again bringing an end to the Tides of War.
Tier 5 Ring Sockets Added!
Colored sockets have been added to all rings Tier 5 and above. This should include any ring greater than Item Level 80. DPS rings will receive Red sockets with Precision as a bonus, Tank rings will receive Blue sockets with Dominance as a bonus, Healer rings will receive Yellow sockets with Restoration as a bonus, and Controller rings will receive Yellow sockets with Vitalization as a bonus.

The battle for the throne of Atlantis continues! Ocean Master, Aquaman’s conniving half brother, has rallied a force of mutineer Atlanteans in an attempt to displace King Arthur and take the throne! The Atlantean civil war has breached the waters of Metropolis. Track “Tides of War” in your Mission Journal and check the Events tab in the On Duty menu to battle for the Atlantean Outpost. Fight for your side, and reap the rewards, including a new Diving Helmet and Atlantean themed base items.

Sony Online Entertainment has confirmed that DC Universe Online is headed for the PS4 as free-to-play download with optional in-game purchases via digital download later this year.
